Item Information

A letter to a Mr D Mill answering his request to play for Dundee FC, with an invitation to appear for Dundee FC v Dundee Hibs on Wednesday 14th May 1919:

“Mr D Mill, 

Dear Sir,

I had a talk to night with Adam(?) Brown. He told me you would like a game for Dundee. We play Dundee Hibs at Dundee next Wednesday 14th May. Kick off at 7.15. If you care to travel through to Dundee I will be delighted to give you a game. I would have asked you up this Saturday, but Adam (?) told me you are playing some ??? team about Glasgow. I hope you will see your way to travel to Dundee on Wednesday. There is a train leaving Stirling at 2.20 due in Dundee 4.25. Please let me know at your earliest. I will pay all expenses. ??? ??? ???

2nd letter to Mr D Mill advising of Alex MacFarlane arranging to pick up D Mill:

“Mr D Mill,

Dear Sir,

Your letter to hand. I will greet you on arrival at 4.25 at Dundee on Wednesday night the 14th May. Hoping you have pleasant journey.
