Born at Alva in 1914, Bobby Rennie joined Dundee F.C. from Clydebank Juniors in 1934.
He found himself in and out of the first team to start with. Becoming a first team regular after Lewis Morgan moved to Portsmouth. He made his 100th appearance on 3rd September 1938. Unfortunately it was a result to forget, a 3-1 defeat against Kings Park.
When football closed down during WW2, regional leagues were formed. Travelling was becoming problematic for Bobby who worked in Clydebank, so he joined Third Lanark.
After enlisting he served in India alongside Tommy Walker of Hearts. By 1945 he was stationed in the UK.
Demobbed in September 1946, Bobby trained with Clydebank, before returning to Dens. Montrose showed interest in signing him, and in December 1946 he made the move up the east coast.
By 1949 he was back in Clydebank, coaching Clydebank Juniors.
Bobby died in 1987 aged 72.
